4 simple steps on how to create a youtube channel

Step 1: Create a Google account

If you are a user of any android device, it is almost certain to have a google account. You may consider creating a different one for your brand if you want to separate your personal email from your business one.

In that case, you can use an email that clearly represents your brand to make it identifiable to your subscribers or viewers who might want to reach out.

Step 2: Create a YouTube account

A Google account automatically gives you a personal YouTube account. That allows you to like, share, and comment on videos you view on the platform. But for business purposes, you’ll want to set up a Brand Account.

All you need to do is go to your YouTube account page, click Create a Channel, and enter a name for your Brand Account. It’s that simple!

Once your brand account is created, you can give multiple people admin access, as well as customise the name and appearance to match your brand. A brand account also grants you access to YouTube Analytics, which offers you insight into who’s watching your videos, their geographic information and what content is more popular.

Step 3: Customise your YouTube channel

The best way to make your channel recognisable is to make it stand out with your unique outlook.

Click Customise channel on your channel dashboard. Using the three tabs — Layout, Branding, and Basic Info — key in the information you think will give your channel the highest chance for audience discovery.

When filling out this section, using descriptive keywords to help your account appear in searches will be highly beneficial. These words can include your channel’s topics, industry, questions your content can answer, or featured products.

Under Branding, there’s the opportunity to upload your channel art and icons to give your channel that unique look. Preferably, it should be one that, evidently, aligns with your overall brand and visually communicates this.

You can as well link your YouTube account with your other social media platforms and web presence.
